Connect
Every day starts and ends with moments of connection. In Morning Circle, students greet one another, acknowledge Country and revisit our school values and expectations. This creates a calm, welcoming atmosphere that helps students feel ready to learn. Before the final bell, What Went Well gives students time to share highlights and successes and end on a positive note together.
Learn
Mornings are dedicated to building strong readers and writers through explicit teaching. In the middle session, the focus shifts to mathematics. New concepts are taught step by step, with plenty of opportunities to practise and regular checks for understanding. Afternoons open up learning across the curriculum as students investigate, create, perform, collaborate and get active.
Play
Break times give students plenty of ways to play, connect and spend time with friends. They can run through the forest, climb the spiderweb or play sports, while lunchtime clubs offer different ways to follow an interest or try something new. As a small school, students get to know children across classes and year groups, building friendships and a strong sense of belonging.
Care
Throughout the day, students are surrounded by adults who know them and are there to help. At Riverwood, caring for students is a shared responsibility. Teachers, School Learning Support Officers (SLSOs) and executive staff work together across the school, so students have familiar adults they can turn to for help, encouragement and guidance.

Tailored learning support
Every child has different strengths and learning needs. At Riverwood Public School, we tailor our programs to support a wide range of learners, including high potential and gifted students, students with additional needs or disabilities, students learning English as an additional language or dialect, and students requiring additional wellbeing support.
