NAIDOC Week
Working with Dalmarri, students celebrated the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples through authentic learning experiences. Students experienced a traditional smoking ceremony, practised throwing boomerangs and created a collaborative artwork for our school.
Canberra Excursion
Stage 3 students travelled to Canberra to consolidate their learning about Australian history and democracy. Highlights included visiting the Australian War Memorial, including the aircraft hall with its 100-year-old aircraft, and sitting in the Senate Chamber at Parliament House.
Open Classrooms
Families visited Riverwood Public School during Education Week to see learning in action. In Kindergarten to Year 2 classrooms, they observed our explicit phonics program, which builds the foundations of reading. In Year 3 to 6 classrooms, they experienced our Knowledge Rich Units, which develop deep understanding across the curriculum.
Book Week
Students celebrated Book Week through a range of engaging literacy activities, culminating in our much-loved Book Week Parade. Students and staff dressed as their favourite book characters, bringing stories to life and celebrating a shared love of reading.
